August 15 - Profile

The film is a sequel to the 1988 bumper hit film August 1 that was directed by Sibi Malayil and written by S. N. Swami. Mammootty plays the character of the Crime Branch officer Perumal once again in 'August 15', and this time around, he would investigate into another assassination attempt on the Chief Minister of Kerala, this time on the 15th of August, the Independence Day of India. Lalu Alex, Siddiq, Thalaivasal Vijay, Biju Pappan, Balachandran Chullikad, Meghana Raj, Swetha Menon would offer support. Meghna plays a Cyber Cell officer, while Swetha plays a doctor, both of whom support Perumal in his investigations.
