Avan tells the story of Krishnan (Bala) who has had a terrible childhood and who grows up to be a criminal. Having run away from home while still a young boy, he nurtures fond memories of his childhood friend, who has always been a pillar of support. Now, in a bustling city, Krishnan has trodden on many a bloody path and has no qualms of taking lives. When he receives a new assignment of finishing off the career of a budding singer Ramanujam (Vijay Yesudas) he doesn't think twice until he realizes who Ramanujam actually is.

Black Stallion movie tells Irumbur Sollai (Ashish Vidyarthi) is a dreaded goon who terrorizes the town of Tirupur. His partner in crimes is the local cop Doraiswamy (Pitamagan Mahadevan) who kills him in a market fight. Sollai's son witnesses the killing and he grows up and as per his father’s wishes to be another “Criminal police” called Black (Kalabhavan Mani). Later, he takes revenge by killing Doraiswamy and soon becomes a notorious “thug in uniform”. Laura Singh (Namitha) who is a bar dancer, and Black falls for her and tries forcibly to marry her, but she stabs him and runs away to Kochi along with her physically challenged sister. In Kochi, she falls for the charms of a magazine photographer Ameer Usman (Bala) and is soon madly in love with her. However Black and his men are after her blood and she is on the run. Suddenly there is a twist in the tale as Ameer turns out to be the villain with the smiling cheek.

PROFILE
Bala is an upcoming South Indian film actor who mainly concentrates in Malayalam and Tamil films. He acted in several Tamil which were unsuccessful, later entered Malayalam film industry. He acted in hit films like Big B. He will be marrying Idea Star Singer fame Amritha Suresh in the near future.
